Caregivers dedicate, on average, 20 hours per week
to provide care to their family members. The role of caregiving often takes a high toll on
the emotional, physical and financial well-being of the caregiver.
The
Family Caregiver Support Program assists two groups of caregivers:
1)
Family caregivers who care for frail elders age 60 and over and do not
have a brain-impairing condition. (Caregivers of loved ones with
brain impairing conditions are served by the Mountain Caregiver Resource
Center Caregiver Resource Center (CRC) .
2) Those
age 60 and over who are the primary caregivers of related children age 18
and under (kinship caregivers). Related links for kinship
caregivers:
(Caregivers must
be residents of Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Plumas or Tehama Counties)
There is no charge for the services
of the Family Caregiver Support Program. Donations for services are gratefully accepted.
