Caregiving Near Life’s End: Education and Support for Caregivers Intended to help caregivers find comfortable ways to explore the practical, emotional, spiritual, and relationship concerns that are part of caring for someone who is approaching the end of life. 

Compassionate Communication with the Memory Impaired
Learn how to interact with the memory impaired, including the five most important “Don’ts.” 

Computer Skills
A workshop designed to help caregivers learn how to use computers for finding resources, creating documents (Microsoft Office), using e-mail effectively, shopping online, and more. 

Dental Hygiene for Seniors
Learn how untreated periodontal disease and tooth decay can negatively impact on an older person’s health status. Risk factors & prevention. 

Driving and Dementia
When is it time for your loved one to stop driving and how do you accomplish that objective? 

Hospitalization and the Special Needs of Patient’s with Dementia
Explore unique hazards of the hospital environment for individuals with Dementia. Learn how to act as an advocate. 

How to talk with your parents and not step on their toes
Class will discuss communication skills. Planning for future needs and wishes of parents. 

Improving Memory and Preventing Aging of the Brain
Looks at the warning signs of a distressed brain that could lead to a brain-degenerative illness. This workshop will help you build a better brain through nutrition, lifestyle changes, and brain workouts. 

It Takes Two:  Understanding Dementia Behavior
Increases caregivers’ ability to set realistic expectations of their loved-ones behavior by understanding and accepting functional and cognitive limitations, modify troublesome behaviors, and facilitate cooperation and participation of the person with dementia. 

Life Bio101
Share and record life stories. 

Medications & Aging
Explore the different types of medications typically prescribed to seniors – uses and adverse effects. 

Mental Aerobics
Why keeping your brain active is so important, and exercises that will help. 

Non-Medical Caregiver Course
Information of use to family and paid caregivers. Included, but not limited to: physical and emotional aspects of aging, Alzheimer’s, Dementia and other diseases, safety issues, fraud and abuse. Certificate issued upon completion of class. 

Scams & Scoundrels
Common scams. How to spot them and how NOT to become a victim 

SOS – System of Support Creating the Help You Need
Identifying what you want or need is half the battle of getting it.  This interactive class facilitates identification of caregiver needs, goals, and resources. 

Stress Reduction
Learn ways to recognize stress in yourself and others and techniques to cope. 

Taking Care of YOU: Powerful tools for Caregivers
Educational program to provide family caregivers with the tools to increase their self-care and their caregiving ability and self-confidence. 

Talking With Your MD: A Guide for Seniors
Learn ways to become an advocate for yourself and become a partner with your doctor instead of an adversary. 

The Benefits of Humor for Caregivers
Discusses the benefits of humor on our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of health. 

The Basics of a Brain Healthy Diet
This workshop explores different types of foods and how they help or harm your brain. 

The Savvy Caregiver
A training program for caregivers based on the notion that family members who become caregivers assume a role for which they are untrained and unprepared. 

Thoughts Locked in Time
How to start a caregiver journal and why it is so helpful. Explore multiple types of journaling and find one that suits your style. It’s not just a diary anymore. 

To Place or Not to Place
The class is designed to assist Caregivers in the decision-making process. Participants will share experiences, thoughts and feelings. 

When Your Loved One Loses Control: A Caregiver’s Guide to Incontinence
