COVID-19 Scams
Here are a few of the schemes:
  •  Scammers are approaching residents of senior housing and assisted living facilities about “opportunities” for COVID-19 testing
  •  Beneficiaries are receiving robocalls about "special virus kits" and being asked for their Medicare number to send a "free" test
  •  Health care agencies are receiving scam emails offering COVID-19 testing services that can be ordered through a telehealth provider
  •  Online services offer a free vaccine in exchange for Medicare #
  •  Fraudulent emails claiming to be from the Centers for Disease Control or other experts offering information on the virus
  •  Cybersecurity scammers send a link which implants PC ransomware

Caregivers tend to neglect their own needs as all efforts are focused on caring for their loved one. The Caregiver Retreat provides an opportunity for caregivers to rest, learn new skills, and create a plan to ensure they take care of their own needs. Research shows that up to 60% of caregivers pass away before their loved one due to the stress of caregiving. The Caregiver Retreat aims to prevent this.

For more information about sponsoring our annual Caregiver Retreat, contact us at 530-898-5925.

Voluntary contributions help the Respite Program of Passages Caregiver Resource Center. Most family caregivers are unable to take good care of themselves because they cannot leave their loved one alone. Respite is short-term relief by means of a temporary paid caregiver that allows the family caregiver to attend support groups and workshops, or attend their own medical appointments.
